Muzaffarpur shelter home case: Manju verma house impoundment completed

Begusarai: In the infamous Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case, Bihar Police finished the seizure of properties of  Manju Verma who’s evading arrest in an Arms Act case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) while probing the Shelter Home scandal.

The raid was conducted by Manjhol Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) at Manju Verma’s residence who is absconding in the Arms Act in connection with the Shelter Home Case.

Police had handed over a list of the seized articles to Verma’s brother-in-law, Hemant Verma, on November 17.

Sub-divisional police officer Suryadev said: “The property attachment began on Saturday and concluded on Sunday. The seizure list is being prepared and will be submitted in court, which had issued a property attachment order on Friday. The seized materials are exhibits of the court.”

On Saturday evening, two and a half hours of time was given to the former Janata Dal-United (JDU) leader to surrender by the district administration. Following that the seizure process started by a team of police officers led by the Superintendent of Police (SP) Utkarsh Kumar.

Police had removed the grill, doors, door frames of a house belonging to her.

Manju Verma house which was under construction, the police took away the gate which was at the entrance of her house, and also the construction materials except for the sand and bricks.

A list of 125 entities seized from the house

All articles inside the house were seized during the two-day operation- initiated under sections 82 and 83 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

In an exercise to attach her property in Arjuntola village, the raid was led by SDPO Suryadeo Kumar.  Mnajhol SDPO said that a list of 109 items was seized on the first day and on Sunday 16 more items were confiscated and the final tally goes up to a total of 125 items.
