Navratri 2021 Puja Vidhi, Samagri, Mantra, Procedure: Shardiya Navratri begins from the first date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month, in which the divine forms of Maa Durga are worshiped for 9 days. However, this year Navratri will last only for 8 days, which will start from 7 October and end on 14 October. Navratri falling in autumn is considered to be the main Navratri. During this, there is a lot of enthusiasm all over the country, especially in states like Bengal and Gujarat, this festival is seen the most. Time of establishment of Kalash:

In this festival of Navratri, some people light an unbroken flame by placing Mata’s post in their homes. On the first day of Navratri, the idol and Kalash of Goddess Durga are established in the morning. Establishing the Kalash according to the Muhurta gives auspicious results. According to astrologers, this time the auspicious time will start from 6.15 am on 7th October, which will last till 7.07 am.

Worship method of Shailputri, the first form of mother:

Waking up in the morning on the day of Navratri, retiring from daily work and wearing clean clothes. Then sprinkle Ganga water all over the house. Start worshiping Maa Durga by setting up a Kalash and take a vow to keep the fast. After this worship Maa Shailputri, the first form of Goddess Durga. Offer red flowers, vermilion, Akshat and incense etc. to Mother Shailputri. After this chant the mantras of Shailputri Devi.

Then recite Durga Chalisa and perform aarti with a ghee lamp in the gap. Maa Shailputri is very fond of white color, if you want, you can also offer white colored barfi to her.

Why is the festival of Navratri celebrated:

There are two main stories related to the festival of Navratri in Hinduism. According to the first story, a demon named Mahishasura had sought a boon from Lord Brahma that gods, demons or any other human living on earth could not kill him. After getting the blessings of Brahma ji, the demon started creating ruckus among the three people. After which the gods invoked Goddess Durga after being stricken by the terror of Mahishasura. There was a fierce battle between Maa Durga and Mahishasura for 9 days. On the tenth day, Goddess Durga killed the terrible demon Mahishasura.

According to another legend, Lord Rama worshiped Goddess Durga before climbing Lanka. Pleased with the devotion of Lord Rama, Goddess Durga blessed him with victory, after which Rama defeated Ravana on the tenth day and conquered Lanka. Therefore, on the tenth day of Navratri, the festival of ‘Vijayadashami’ i.e. Dussehra is celebrated.

During the 9 days of Navratri, 9 different forms of Maa Durga are worshiped.

Maa Shailputri is worshiped before Navratri. During the nine days of Navratri, nine forms of Maa Durga are worshipped.

Ram Navami will be celebrated on 14 October. There is a tradition of worshiping the girl on this day. Dussehra will be celebrated on the next day of Ram Navami or Dashami.

Navratri worship method

On the day of Navratri, wake up in the morning and wear clean clothes after retiring from daily work. Then sprinkle Ganga water all over the house. Start worshiping Maa Durga by setting up a Kalash and take a vow to keep the fast. After this, offer flowers, vermilion, akshat and incense etc. to the idol of the mother. Afterwards recite the mantras. Recite Durga Chalisa and finally do Aarti.

Worship material for Ghatasthapana

A clay pot with wide mouth, Kalash, 7 types of grains, soil of holy place, water (if possible Gangajal), Kalava/Mauli, Mango or Ashoka leaves (Pallava), peeled coconut, betel nut, intact , flowers and wreaths, red cloth, sweets, vermilion, durva etc.

Shardiya Navratri begins from the first date of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This time 8 Navratras are falling as the third and fourth day of Navratri falls on the same day this year.
