On Tuesday, the additional charge of the Ministry of I&B has been given to Smriti Irani. Smriti Zubin Irani is currently the Minister of Textiles in the Government of India. This announcement was made public by the Prime Minister’s Office’s official Twitter handle. This comes soon after Venkiah Naidu’s resignation as he is contesting for the upcoming vice-presidential poll, who was at the Parliament House today to file his nomination papers. Additionally, Narendra Tomar was made the Minister for Urban Development.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is a branch of the Government of India which is apex body for formulation and administration of the rules and regulations and laws relating to information, broadcasting, the press and films in India.
