Story of ‘King Maya’: Two suspects named Bilal Gani alias Mallu and Sameer alias King Maya have been detained by the Delhi Police in connection with the Bhajanpura murder case. Sameer alias Maya was apprehended by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police Department. Additionally, the weapon used to perpetrate the crime has been recovered from the suspect. He has been booked under the Arms Act and turned over to the local police. A 36-year-old male was fatally shot in the Subhash Vihar neighbourhood of Bhajanpura. The deceased has been identified as Amazon senior manager Harpreet Gill. Another victim of the gunfire was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The other individual was identified as Govind, who is said to be the deceased’s maternal uncle.

Approximately five adolescents on two-wheelers opened fire on the victims before fleeing the scene. The incident was captured by a nearby surveillance camera. The CCTV footage was examined by the Delhi Police, who arrested one suspect in connection with the incident.

At approximately 2:00 AM, the Delhi Police apprehended two suspects from Signature Bridge. The accused and his four accomplices engaged in a road rage incident with the deceased and the injured party. The Delhi Police stated that efforts are being made to apprehend the other suspects in this case. In addition, additional investigation is being conducted into the matter.

Harpreet Gill, who was killed, and Govind, who was injured in the road rage, were riding their bikes at gali number 8 in Bhajanpura when five youths on a scooty and a bike opened fire on them without provocation and then fled the scene. The police are examining CCTV footage to identify the other suspects in the case. The authorities reported a murder and initiated an investigation. The reason for the termination has not yet been determined.

Northeast Delhi DCP Joy N. Tirkey told ANI, “Both victims were riding motorcycles. The initial investigation revealed that there were four to five individuals on two-wheeled vehicles. After an altercation, there was an abrupt termination. Harpreet and his maternal uncle Govind were both struck in the head, but they were both stable. He and I were able to communicate last night. We are investigating several suspects. Yes, they are one of the suspects (Maya Gang). The quantity of criminals can range from four to five.”

According to the Times of India, the primary suspect in the case, Sameer alias King Maya, was so inspired by Vivek Oberoi’s portrayal of Maya bhai in the film Shootout at Lokhandwala that he named his gang the ‘Maya gang’. Sameer addressed himself as ‘Maya bhai’. His Instagram ID was king_maya_302 and his bio stated, “Name- badnam, address- kabristan, umr- jeene ki, shauk- marne ki.” According to reports, King Maya fatally fired the victims in the head.

The accused has been charged with four murders.
