In a generation bound with maximum computer-use throughout the day, this Chinese principal gives us major heath goals.

A 40-year-old school principal named Zhang Pengfei at Xi Guan Primary School in Shanxi Province has become an internet sensation after since he went rogue, binning the state-approved, mandatory daily exercise program in favor of a more ‘Footloose’ approach to keeping his pupils fit and healthy – by shuffling.

Students in the school are now following the principle’s dance steps after the he learnt the shuffle dance himself and then taught his students.

Along with beaming children, teachers are also seen in the video taking part in the dance workout.

The dance is called guibu, or ghost steps – a shuffle dance incorporating modern jazz steps, with heel-and-toe movements and arm actions.

The video was posted on Facebook by the South China Morning Post and already has 10m views in less than 24hrs.

His reasoning for learning the shuffle is that it is more interesting and fun than the standard, government-mandated exercise program and might wrest children away from electronic devices and make them more active on a day-to-day basis.
