The auspicious festival of blessed marital bliss – Tulsi Vivah 2019 falls on November 9 this year. This day is observed as the mythical marriage of Lord Vishnu with the Tulsi plant (Holy Basil). The Vivah ceremony has to be celebrated on Day 12 (Dwadashi) of the Shukla Paksha in the Kartik month.

Significance of Tulsi Vivah

Tulsi Vivah signifies the commencement of marriages for Hindus, and also the end of the monsoon season in India. As per mythology, the Tulsi plant is an incarnation of Goddess Mahalakshmi.

Married women observe the rituals in order to be blessed with marital bliss. Unmarried women observe in order that they are rewarded with good husbands.
