Union Minister of State for Railway Rajen Gohain is charged with rape case following a police complaint in Nagaon police station in Assam. Rajen Gohain is a BJP minister and a Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha.
It has come as a huge embarrassment for the BJP making the government owe a reply to the nation about ‘girls’ safety’ in the country when the leaders in the party itself are found directly or indirectly responsible in creating a risky and dangerous environment around.
Recently a series of rape incidents in BJP ruling states Bihar and Muzaffarpur shelter homes had triggered huge protest inside and outside the states.

Nagaon Superintendent of Police, Shankar Rai Medhi, told the case was registered on August 2. “We are investigating it,” he said. The police registered the case under IPC Sections 417, 376 and 506. Gohain, the four-time Nagaon MP, was not available for a comment. In an audio tape that has gone viral, he was heard abusing the woman’s husband.
