Where dating apps can help you find a partner it can also turn out to be dangerous in some cases.  One such incident happened in relation to dating app Tinder in 2015 but has come into the limelight now.

A 44-year-old US resident Anna Rowe was conned on tinder by a 45-year-old married man who is also a father. The man used the black-and-white image of Saif Ali Khan in a suit of his times in Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Naa Ho, which was released back in 2003.

The divorced man named Anthony Ray duped Anna in 2015. She didn’t realize that the man posing in the picture was Saif Ali Khan.

In an interview with Canada’s radio station, Anna opened up about Anthony Ray, “He’s described himself as a divorced father. He said that he was honest, loyal, and genuine and, at the very bottom of his profile which was what caught me because I really wasn’t that interested in the photos was that he hated poor communication and mind games. And it was literally those words at the bottom that really caught my interest because I thought: ‘He’s been hurt before and he’s not going to hurt me’.”

Anna also revealed that she met Anthony in person but it was after a few months she found out that he wasn’t what he pretended to be.

Anna became an advocate four years after the incident and now she fights such cases. She has been in touch with the US police, demanding to make ‘posing as someone else on dating apps, illegal.
