Uttar Pradesh: Two-time BJP MLA JP Singh and former IPS Kush Saurabh joins Congress

Lucknow: There is a continuous round of reversals by the leaders ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Two-time BJP MLA  JP Singh has left BJP to join the Congress party. Along with him, IPS Kush Saurabh also took VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) to join Congress.

In the presence of Congress in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad, state president Raj Babbar and Congress leader Pramod Tiwari, JP Singh and Kush Saurabh joined the Congress party. It is believed that in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019, the Congress can take these two leaders as their candidates in the electoral fray.

After the SP-BSP combine in the state, Congress has announced to contest elections in all the 80 seats alone. Congress’s UP in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad said that we will contest the elections on all the Lok Sabha seats, but if the baggage-holders will contest the elections together with us. In this way, we can leave some seats for them.

Kush Saurabh is from Gorakhpur. It is believed that the party can contest from any seat of Purvanchal, while JP Singh is from Moradabad and has been twice as a BJP legislator.

Ghulam Nabi Azad said that after the Lok Sabha elections, it will come to know which party is weak in the state and which strong. Right now, our focus is to contest elections in the sub-continent. Congress will give tough competition to BJP in the elections of 2019
