Know all about Murtaza Ali Hamid, blind man who offered Rs 110 cr for Pulwama martyrs

Murtaza Ali Hamid, a 44-year-old visually impaired researcher and scientist from Kota has won the nation’s heart with his gesture of of paying tribute to Pulwama martyrs and their families. The Mumbai-based Hamid has offered to donate Rs 110 crore to the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund for the welfare of Pulwama attack martyrs.

Hamid, through email to PMO has sought an appointment to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard. In response, he got an answer from the Prime Minister’s Office that within two-three days, the time to meet the Prime Minister will be decided.

“The country has lost 40 of its brave soldiers in the Pulwama attack. I wanted to help the army and their families, so I decided to give this amount to the National Relief Fund,” said Murtaza to a leading publication.

As per the reports, Blind since birth, Hamid did his graduation in commerce from Government Commerce College, Kota and is currently working as a researcher and scientist in Mumbai.

As resported by TOI, Hamid regrets that had his scientific innovation been recognized timely by the government, tragic incidents like Pulwama attack could have been checked. He invented the fuel burn radiation technology. Through this technology, any vehicle can be traced without GPS, camera or any other device.

Reports quoted Hamid who claimed that he had forwarded the proposal to hand it over free of cost to the government and National Highways Authority of India in September 2016 but he received initial approval two years later in October 2018. Further development on the same is still awaited.
