INDIA TODAY-AXIS ON CHHATTISGARH | The survey has predicted 42-50 seats for the BJP, 32-38 for the Congress, JCC+BSP to get 6-8 and 1-3 for others. The half-way mark in the 90-seat Assembly is 46 seats. In 2013, the BJP had won 49 seats, the Congress won 39 while BSP bagged 1 seat.

The Congress is predicted to win 89 seats, while others may win 15. The halfway mark is 119. In 2013, the BJP had won a whopping 165 seats, which means the saffron party may take a tumble this time. The Congress had won 58 the last time.

The Congress is predicted to win 104-122 seats, while others may win 4-11. The halfway mark is 119. In 2013, the BJP had won a whopping 165 seats, which means the saffron party may take a tumble this time. The Congress had won 58 the last time.
The exit polls will start popping in a few minutes for the five states that went for their Assembly Elections over the last month. The five states which underwent Elections are Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana.

The election in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram took place on 28 November, whereas Chhattisgarh Elections took place across two phases on November 12 and November 20.
The election in the states of Rajasthan and Telangana took place on 7 December, while the vote counting of all the five elections will happen on 11 December.
Rajasthan has been a swing state since the BJP won for the second time in succession under the leadership of Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in 1993. Since then, the two parties of Congress and BJP are alternatively being elected by the state.
Whereas, Madhya Pradesh has been ruled by Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s BJP for the last 13 years.
Major political parties contesting the election in the southern state are KCR’s Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Congress, Telangana Jana Samithi, Communist Party of India, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and BJP.
In Chhattisgarh, the Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state, led by CM Raman Singh, is seeking victory for the fourth time after remaining in power for three consecutive terms. On the other hand, the Congress is hoping to snatch power in the state from the saffron party with the help of huge anti-incumbency in the state. Meanwhile, former chief minister Ajith Jogi’s Janata Congress Chhattisgarh party is also hoping to claim victory, in alliance with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party.
