Bengaluru: Law intern found dead after filing sexual harassment complaint

Just days after filing a sexual harassment complaint against lawyers, a law intern has been found dead where she was staying in Bengaluru. Reportedly, the intern belongs to Andaman & Nicobar and had come to the city to intern for Jayanth Pattenhetti Associates.

She worked under Chandra Naik and Chetan Desai, against both of whom she had registered an FIR on November 20. According to BarAndBench, in the FIR it was said that  “Naik and Chetan used to take her to pubs and bars and force her to consume a alcohol. They would then touch her inappropriately and sexually harass her.”

She was living in a paying guest facility in Malleswaram area of Bengaluru whose owner filed a complaint about the death of the intern.
