Bengaluru Traffic: Bengaluru is again getting news because of the crazy traffic, and it look like things may get even more tough from October 1. The city already famous for people sitting long hours in cars and bikes, now will see more rush because many private companies on the Outer Ring Road have told workers to stop work-from-home and hybrid. From October 1, people have to come to office every day, no option.

These companies say this will make work better and more productive, but people are scared the roads will become even more packed. Workers are worried they will spend more time on road, feel more stress, and nobody knows if traffic police even ready for this change.
On Reddit one person wrote, “WFO Mandatory from 1st Oct, prepare for Traffic woes. A bunch of offices on the ORR have announced Mandatory work from the office starting from 1st October. They’re tying this to performance and salary. Be prepared for the increase in traffic starting from 1st October. I’m not even sure if the Bengaluru Traffic Police has been informed about this change and increase in density of vehicles on the roads.”
More cars on ORR and other big roads
The numbers already showing big jump in vehicles. Data from Bengaluru Traffic Police say that in June, entries inside 26 big tech parks on ORR went up by 45 percent compared to last year.

The worst day was Wednesday when more than 1,20,000 cars and bikes entered in one day, while in June 2024 it was only around 82,000. Most of these people use their own vehicles because companies asking them to come office compulsory.
Not only ORR, but Sarjapur Road and also roads to Electronics City will also feel the pressure soon. Many firms are strict now and want employees to return to office, so all these routes may see big jams every morning and evening.
How bad the Road Travel has become?
Bengaluru traffic problem is not new, but it is getting worse. Report by Economic Times says in 2025, one person in Bengaluru spend around 63 minutes just for one side trip of 19 km. That is 16% more time than last year.
Compared to other cities, only Mumbai is longer with 66 minutes for 25 km. Delhi NCR is close too with 65 minutes for 26 km, but the rise there is very small, only 1.5%. Chennai is same like Bengaluru with 63 minutes for 22 km, while Hyderabad is little better with 58 minutes for 23 km.
