In another shocking incident of sexual assault against minors, a 45-year-old man identified as Shivraj Yadav was arrested on Thursday gor allegedly repeatedly raping and impregnating a 13-year old girl.
The incident was reported from Bhopal’s TT Nagar police station. According to reports, the incident came to light on Thursday when the girl was taken to a hospital after she complained of stomach ache.
The accused, who lived in the neighbourhood, had first sexually assaulted the girl in December last year and threatened her not to tell about it to anyone. After that, he raped the girl on multiple occasions.
Based on the complaint of her family members, a case was registered against the man under Indian Penal Code sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In a similar incident reported earlier this week, a nine-month-old girl baby was raped and gagged by a man following which the infant died. The girl died as the man had gagged her during the rape attempt when she was crying. The accused took the baby while she was sleeping alongside her parents on the terrace of her home and allegedly assaulted her sexually.
