A class 7th question paper of Bihar Education Board claims that Kashmir is not a part of India but, a separate country. The fact was highlighted by a student from Vaishali on Tuesday. The examination for which the paper was prepared, was conducted under the Centre’s Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, which is overseen by the state by the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), a wing of the state education department. The exams ended recently.
The paper that was prepared by the state board reportedly asked students to name what the people of five countries — China, Nepal, England, Kashmir and India —are called.  When asked about it, Sangeeta Sinha, the Vaishali district education officer, said that she was on leave when the incident happened and now, will look into the matter, as quoted by The Times of India.
Meanwhile, Prem Chandra, BEPC state programme officer, accepted that mistake and called it ’embarrassing’ while claiming it to be a printing error.
