There are a lot of inspiring stories this year that show us how to work hard and never give up hope, even when things get tough. Richa Kumari is one of them. She lives in Pirpainti taluk in Bhagalpur district.

Yagesh Pandey, a small-scale farmer, has one daughter named Richa. Richa told News18 over the phone that her father had taken out a loan to farm and that the family was having trouble paying for their education because of money problems.

“My entire family supported me throughout the journey. I have been able to achieve this success only because of the support I got from my siblings,” she added.

She took the 67th BPSC test and got the 806th best score. She was then hired as a Labor Enforcement Officer. She also said that she would be happy to be sent to the Purnia district because she thinks she could make the changes that are needed in that area.

She mentioned that, at the same time, her priority is to get free education for economically weak children. “I want this because when I was in the village and wherever I went, I saw small children working instead of studying, as it is a luxury for them and they can’t afford it. Now I have a chance to change it and get them a better future,” she shared.

Richa talked about how she studied and said that she passed the test on her third try. She also said she never took a class and always studied for six to seven hours a day.

Richa Kumari finished her first year of school at Girls Primary School. That’s where she got her high school diploma. Richa was going to Women’s Training College in Patna to get her B.Ed.
