Chhattisgarh Assembly Elections: IAS at the age of 23, Raipur Collector resigns to join BJP

Chhattisgarh assembly poll is due in December 2018 and all the political parties seem to have pulled up their socks for the elections. Getting a strong support in the mid of the campaign period may prove to be a mileage for any party. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected to get the support of an Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer OP Chaudhary. According to reports, 37-year-old Chaudhary is joining BJP to contest 2018 Lok Sabha Elections from Raipur.

OP Chaudhary cleared his IAS exams at the age of 23 and became a role model for Aghariya community. He is also an influential figure in the state which will be a plus point for the BJP. Chaudhary had been meeting party leaders for the last two months. A BJP leader has also confirmed the reports of representing OP Chaudhary as a youth face for BJP in the state.

Chaudhary comes from an agricultural background and was rewarded with ‘Awards for Excellence in Public Administration’ by the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Later he started an initiative for road accident victims called ‘Good Samaritan’ where the victims are provided with Rs 5,000 by the ‘Red Cross’ as an appreciation fund.
