Punjab: Along with lockdown, curfew has also been put across the state to prevent the coronavirus pandemic. In view of this, the district administration has taken the initiative to provide curfew cab service day and night for a medical emergency in Mohali. For this, the administration has tied up with Uber Essential and Uber Medical.

In such a horrifying situation, people have been given relief to go to the hospital at the time of medical emergency.

While providing this information, DC Girish Dayalan said on Thursday that now if any patient has to reach the hospital, Uber will be able to take sick patients to government / private hospitals / clinics / pharmacy only for medical needs. Moreover, more than two people in vehicles will not be allowed. People using this facility will not need a curfew pass.

The administration will keep a record of this and the fixed expenses will be made by Uber India. There will be no additional cost involved. To ensure transparency, Uber will report the journey of all vehicles to the Nodal Officer on a daily basis.

Along with this, health check-up of drivers, sanitation of vehicles and use of masks and hand sanitizers will be ensured on time.

In addition, 20 vehicles being provided free of cost by Uber India will be used to bring low-income group people to the government hospitals.

For the service of these vehicles, anyone can contact the control room of health department at 0172-2270091 / 78146-41397. In the control room, the request can be made by the SMO MO incharge. At the same time, action will be taken against those who misuse this service. Please tell that Secretary RTA Mohali (9872630545) will be the nodal officer of this service.
