Gurugram: Tired of insults and abuses from wife, a 28-year-old man stabbed his wife over 40 times to death in Ashok Vihar, sector 5, Gurugram.
The man, Pankaj (28) and his co-worker Naseem Ahmed (39) was arrested by the police on Sunday for allegedly killing and planning a murder on his wife Vanshika, who was a homemaker.
Gurgaon Police PRO Subhash Bokan as said “Pankaj was missing since the incident. He was our prime suspect. We arrested him with the help of technical surveillance on Sunday from Laxman Vihar area.”
The police stated that she was hit on the head with the car wrench and was stabbed 40 times in stomach, neck, chest and other parts of the body. The police also told that keeping in view the wounds, it seems that she was stabbed through a quilt when she was asleep.
SHO Sumit Kumar said that the couple was married for 2 years and used to fight a lot.
During interrogation, her husband revealed that he killed his wife because she used to insult him on the behest of her family and her behaviour towards him was not appropriate, this made him kill her and he was planning her murder with his colleague since 2 months and was waiting for the right time to arrive.
According to the police, Vanshika was murdered on Saturday between 2 pm to 6 pm and her father Mahesh Sharma filed a complaint alleging that his daughter was murdered and also before the incident took place he had a talk with her daughter on the phone.
Around 1.30pm, I comforted her over the phone and told her that I would visit on Sunday to settle the matter. My daughter used to complain that her in-laws harassed her over dowry-related matters and chided her over trivial issues. I had intervened earlier also when she had returned to our house after a fight. On Saturday, I got a call around 7.30pm informing me that she had died,” Sharma said.
A case was registered against the accused persons under sections 302 (murder), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (acts are done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code at Sector 5 police station, police said. The accused will be produced in the district court and necessary action will be taken.
