DMRC Elevated Corridor: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is working on a new traffic-relief plan for the Mehrauli-Badarpur Road belt in south Delhi. The idea is to cut the daily jam on one of the city’s busiest stretches by building an integrated mix of elevated roads, underpasses, subways, and road redesign work. Recent reports say the project is meant to improve travel for people moving through Sangam Vihar, Saket, Khanpur, Pul Prahladpur, Badarpur, and nearby areas where traffic pressure keeps rising.

The main road relief is planned for commuters who use the MB Road corridor every day. Reports say one stretch will run for nearly 5 km from Sangam Vihar to Maa Anandmayee Marg, while another 1.1-km elevated link is planned from Pul Prahladpur toward Badarpur. The wider plan also includes an elevated connection between Saket G-Block and Sangam Vihar, plus reworking of the 1.9-km section between Maa Anandmayee Marg and Pul Prahladpur to help vehicles move more smoothly.
The project is not just about one single flyover. Reports say it also includes a second phase with a 2.48-km, six-lane elevated flyover built above the existing Delhi Metro tunnel corridor. That part is meant to help traffic management even more in the same crowded belt. Another report said the government has already approved an integrated six-lane elevated corridor on MB Road with underpasses and a double-decker design, and that the work is being handled as a major deposit project.

Officials say the detailed project report and feasibility study should be finished in about four months. After that, the authorities will decide the final timeline and how the work will be carried out. So the plan is moving ahead, but the exact start date for construction is still waiting for the full technical and approval process to finish.
