In a shocking incident, a woman in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad was subjected to constant domestic violence. After which she filed a complaint at Anandnagar police station claiming that her husband beat her up and gave her electric shocks at their home.
The couple got married in 2006. This was the second marriage of the victim while the accused got married for the third time. The man is also a father to a 14-year-old and hails from Mumbai.
According to the victim, initially, their marriage was going great. After around four years, the man mentally and physically abused his wife. The reason behind the alleged marriage is said to be dowry-related.
The woman also said that the accused married her because he needed someone to take care of his son and at the time of their marriage, the son was two years old. The woman who was a native of Ahmedabad shifted to Mumbai post marriage.
As per reports, the man allegedly refused to provide basic necessities to the victim and threatened to murder her and he also asked his wife to get dowry from her father. The woman further said that her sister-in-law was also involved in torturing her and he used to provoke the accused against her.
Reportedly, the woman after being subjected to domestic violence slipped into depression. Post which she sought the help of the police. Police said that they are collecting evidence into the matter and a probe is underway.
