IPL 2024 opening ceremony: The opening ceremony of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 will take place at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on March 22. The star-studded opening ceremony looks set to be the talk of the town, with Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, AR Rahman, and Sonu Nigam expected to perform.

According to the official account of IPL on X, the opening ceremony line-up has been announced, “The stage is set, the lights are bright, and the stars are ready to shine at the TATA IPL 2024 opening ceremony! Get ready for an unforgettable fusion of cricket and entertainment ft. a stellar lineup! 22nd March, 6:30 pm onwards.”
Also, they shared posters announcing Akshay, Tiger, Rahman and Sonu will perform. Chennai Super Kings will play Royal Challengers Bangalore in the first match. A video of Rashmika Mandanna dancing to Jimikki Ponnu in her green room had gone viral back then. Last year’s opening ceremony featured Rashmika Mandanna, Tamannaah Bhatia and Arijit Singh perform.
Currently, Akshay and Tiger are collaborating on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, a film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, Alaya F and Ronit Bose Roy also star in the film, which is co-written by Aditya Basu and will release on April 10.
He has composed music for several films yet to be released, including Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life, Amar Singh Chamkila, Maidaan and Ram Charan’s next film with Janhvi Kapoor.
