Janata Dal-United MLA has urged to Chief minister Nitish Kumar to not to give away the Begusari Lok Sabha Seat to any outside candidate or MLA won’t take part in the upcoming election campaign for the party. JDU MLA Bogo Singh has said that “He will go on sick leave if a local candidate is not given the ticket from Begusaria constituency for the upcoming General Election Polls 2019”.
JDU MLA said that he is not hungry for power, and will follow the order of Nitish Kumar. “If a local son of the soil is contesting from the alliance, I will campaign in his favour. But if this won’t happen I will go on sick leave,” says Singh.
Why MLA statement is important?
In this crucial time when Nitish Kumar is busy in finalising the seat sharing with the BJP in Delhi, it also appears as an attempt to increase the political pressure on Kumar ahead of drawing the final picture for the seat sharing with the BJP. Bogo Singh himself is in the hunt of getting the ticket from Begusarai, which is also known as Leningrad of Bihar.
Major contenders of Begusarai (Leningrad)
Bogo Singh has already contested as an independent candidate from the seat previously in 2009 Lok Sabha election and trying to cement his demand. Another contender from JDU is Monazir Hasan, a former member of parliament. From the BJP, Giriraj Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha are also trying their best to get the candidature from the party. Another BJP member of legislative council Rajnish Kumar is also claiming for contesting the seat.
No name finalised
All the above-mentioned candidates are trying their best to get the chance to grab the ticket to contest next Lok Sabha from Begusarai but the final tally of seat sharing is yet to be finalised.
Who will be the NDA candidate from Begusarai? Only time can tell but right now it appears as more demand than the availability of something. on the other hand, Jawaharlal Nehru Students Union former president Kanhaiya Kumar is all set to contest from the seat from Communist Party of India party.
