A 34-year-old police sub-inspector, namely Rohan Ganjari has been absconding after he was booked for blackmailing and raping a rape survivor. The accused policeman was investigating survivor’s case from last one year and was posted in the Kangaon police station.
A leading newspaper reported that accused was investigating the case of a 26-year-old woman, who claimed that her boyfriend’s name was added in her rape FIR against her wish. And, when she sought for it to be removed, Ganjari blackmailed her and eventually raped her.
In 2015, the victim met the 28-year-old Satish and soon became close friends and established a physical relationship. After some time, Satish’s earlier girlfriend Rabiya, got to know about the woman’s relationship with Satish and threatened her, the newspaper report claimed.
As per the woman’s complaint, Rabiya invited her at her residence for a discussion and served her juice laced with sedatives. The woman was allegedly raped by Rabiya’s friends and the report claimed that a video of the incident was also shot. When she approached Kongaon police station in 2017, to lodge a complaint against Rabiya and her friends, the cops added Satish’s name in the FIR too.
