Husband Murdered in Bareilly: A shocking case has come out from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, where a newly married woman has been arrested for killing her husband just two months after their wedding. The man, Jitendra Kumar Yadav, was 33 years old. He was found hanging inside a rented house in the Izzatnagar area. At first, everyone thought he had taken his own life.
Neighbours were told that Jitendra had died by suicide, and there was no doubt in the beginning. But when doctors did the post-mortem, the truth came out immediately. The report showed that the real cause of death was actually “strangulation” and not hanging.

Police Uncover Dark family Plot
As the investigation moved forward, police found that Jitendra was allegedly killed by his wife Jyoti with help from her family. According to an NDTV report, police said Jyoti strangled her husband while her father, mother, and brother held him down. After Jitendra died, the family tried to hide the crime.
To make it look like a suicide, they used a muffler to hang his body from a window grill. An alarm was raised later, and people in the area were told that the man had hanged himself. When police reached the house on January 26, they also believed it was a suicide at first since there were no clear signs of murder.
Things changed after Jitendra’s brother Ajay Kumar filed a complaint. Based on this, police first registered a case of abetment to suicide and ordered a post-mortem. Once the report confirmed strangulation, the charges were changed to murder. Three people have been arrested so far, while the brother-in-law is still missing.
Why the Marriage turned Deadly
Jyoti and Jitendra had known each other for nine years and got married on November 25 last year. Police said the wedding was done as per Hindu customs and both families had agreed. After marriage, the couple started living in a rented house in Girja Shankar Colony in Izzatnagar. Jitendra was originally from Bhaupora village in Etawah district.

Very soon after marriage, problems started between them. Police said money issues became a major reason for fights. Jitendra had taken Rs 20,000 from Jyoti’s bank account and lost it in online gambling. This led to frequent arguments and on January 26, Jyoti questioned him about the money, and the fight became serious.
During the argument, Jyoti called her parents Kalicharan and Chameli, and her brother Deepak to the house. Police said that during the fight, the family members caught hold of Jitendra, and Jyoti strangled him “in a fit of rage”. After he stopped responding, they worked together to make the scene look like a suicide.
During questioning, police said Jyoti admitted to the crime and explained what happened that day. Jitendra was working as a contract employee at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly. Jyoti was working as a contract bus conductor with the Uttar Pradesh Road Transport Corporation. Police said frequent fights over money made the situation worse after marriage.
