The police have found nothing objectionable in the car in which Singh and his friends were travelling.

After the incident was reported to Ratlam, SP suspended the cop.

Virendra Singh told Udaipur police that he mistook the Rajasthan police team who were chasing his car as goons and for the safety purpose he opened fire at them. A case has been registered against the cop for firing at a police official. As per initial investigation, the cop was frightened and mistook the team on a chase to be goons.

IG Udaipur said that the sub-inspector came to Rajasthan on official duty and at the initial stage there is no evidence that suggests that he was involved in any sort of smuggling.

The police have confirmed from Bilpank police station in Ratlam that they had sent 6 policemen to Udaipur to arrest four-member gang who were absconding. Virendra Singh along with 4 policemen was sent to Udaipur. One of them told SP that Virendra went out to drop his friend who had came to meet him at the hotel and then they received a call from him that someone was following them.
