Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned a year older today. While BJP has been celebrating PM’s birthday from September 14 in the view of Seva Saptah, netizens are observing PM Modi’s birthday as National Unemployment day. #NationalUnemplymentDay has been trending on Twitter since last night along with Narendra Modi Birthday.
Why is National Unemployment Day trending?
The hashtag National Unemployment Day is viral all over social media to mark a protest against the increasing unemployment rate in the country. Netizens are protesting against the current government for their failure to create jobs in the market which has gone worse because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As per reports, India’s GDP has contracted 23.9% in the April-June quarter and it is the worst contraction in 40 years. Due to COVID-19 people who were employed are losing their jobs because of the economic recession and those who were unemployed are not able to find jobs in the domestic market.
India’s youth is protesting as they have been demanding changes in SSC and other recruitment processes. Throughout the week the youth tried to express their issues on Twitter. It’s high time that the BJP government should focus on these issues as it will make the economy worse.
