Lahunipada police arrested a dacoit, namely Md Yubed (21) in Sundargarh district on Wednesday. Proceeding on a tip, police raided a spot, where some burglars were planning a theft at Gamaleihat near Lahunipada. Md Yubed was held at the spot and others managed to flee.
As per the reports, three motorbikes, two pistols, two torch lights, plastic rope and masks were recovered from the spot.
Lahunipada police station IIC Manoranjan Pradhan told media that “The dacoit gang comprises 9-10 persons. Earlier, the gang had committed many minor and major thefts in the area. They also allegedly collected extortion money from businessmen at Gamaleihat after threatening them at gunpoint.”
