Reacting to corruption charges levelled by Rahul Gandhi against Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday, BJP hits back saying he (Rahul) is a ‘non-serious’ political leader.
Addressing a rally in Gujarat, Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister had received huge funds form Sahara Group during his stint as Gujarat Chief Minister.
“It has become their (Cong) habit to level baseless allegations against the Prime Minister. Rahul Gandhi is a part time non-serious political leader,” Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said responding to the allegation levelled by Congress vice president.
“Why do you take Rahul Gandhiji’s statements seriously? Even people from the Congress don’t take his words seriously,” he added.
Addressing a press conference, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad further clarified on his party’s stance. “Rahul Gandhi is leading his party to repeated disastrous defeat and hence he is levelling baseless allegations in his sadness. Baseless allegations are being levelled to divert attention from the alleged involvement of Congressmen in AgustaWestland. Rahul Gandhi leading his party to repeated disastrous defeat; Public doesn’t think Congress is able enough to run municipalities,” he said.
Prasad added, “Congress’ history stinks with Corruption, The saga of Cong govt is to promote looters of public money & to protect them. Congress did not spare the sky, space, land, under the land and even sea in corruption. Not a word was spoken by Rahul Gandhi on the series of stinking corruption which has become an integral part of Manmohan Singh’s Government.”
