In an appalling incident, a 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly uploading his 75-year-old mother’s nude pictures on WhatsApp to blackmail her for the ownership papers of their ancestral house.
The man was produced before the additional chief judicial magistrate (ACJM) who sent him to judicial custody court on Sunday.
According to reports, the accused identified as Deepak Tiwari (50) clicked his mother’s photos on May 13 when she was changing clothes after a bath at her home in Shivpura area under Dadabari police station of the city, said police.
He then sent the photos on WhatsApp to all her relatives, who informed the old woman of her son’s shameful act. The woman lodged a case against her son with the Dadabari police station on May 14.
The man’s father died around 20-22 days ago and since then a dispute on the ancestral house was underway between the son and his mother, circle in-charge at Dadabari police station Tarachand told a leading daily.
The woman, in her report, said that she was performing ‘Hawan’ for her late husband on May 13, when the son sprinkled some unidentified substance over her and the ‘hawan fire’ extinguished. Her skin too felt itchy and so she took off her clothes, bathed and changed into a fresh set of clothes.
All this while her son secretly clicked her photographs and sent them to her relatives. The son wanted to blackmail her so that she would transfer the ownership papers to the son, the old woman said in the report.
The police have booked him under section 509 A, 509 B of IPC and section 67 of the IT Act and initiated investigation into the matter. The pictures of the woman were recovered through technical investigation, as the accused had deleted all the pictures after sending them on social media.
