Citing personal reasons, Solicitor General, Ranjit Kumar, resigned on Friday. According to reports, in his letter to the Law Ministry, he said he wanted to spend more time with his family.
“I have resigned due to personal reasons. I am not being able to give time to my family,”Ranjit Kumar was quoted as saying.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet had extended Ranjit Kumar’s term in June this year. Reports say Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta is the top runner to replace Ranjit Kumar.
