Thane: Annoyed over delay in bringing liquor, man mercilessly beats wife to death

The man asked his wife Santoshi (25) to buy liquor for him on Thursday afternoon. He got angry when she took some time to return and allegedly beat her up mercilessly with a piece of wood in the corridor of the building where they lived.

A ghastly incident was reported in the district of Mumbai on Friday where a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his wife because she failed to bring him liquor quickly.

The accused has been identified as Prabin Purvia who is a resident of Amrut Nagar locality, as per the police.

The man asked his wife Santoshi (25) to buy liquor for him on Thursday afternoon. He got angry when she took some time to return and allegedly beat her up mercilessly with a piece of wood in the corridor of the building where they lived. The police added the Santoshi died on the spot.

The man was arrested early Friday morning under IPC section 302 (Murder). The probe into the matter is underway.

In a similar incident from Uttar Pradesh, a man had beaten his wife to death after she had denied giving money to him for liquor. He strangulated his wife to death.
