Micro-blogging giant Twitter has launched a new speedier version of its site for the mobile web and dubbed it, ‘Twitter Lite.’
Focused on budding markets and users with unreliable connectivity, Twitter Lite takes up less than a megabyte and comes with an additional data saver mode that blurs pictures and videos until they’re clicked.
The Lite version will load to the point of interactivity in under 5 seconds on most 3G devices. It can save up to 70 per cent on data while loading 30 per cent faster, claims Twitter.
Twitter Lite was developed in association with Google. It has added features on Android like push notifications. Twitter Lite is available worldwide now.
