Uttar Pradesh: Mother, minor daughter found murdered in Kaushambhi district

In an appalling incident, five members of a family were found dead under mysterious circumstances at their house in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah on Saturday morning.

The deceased were identified as Rajeshwar Pachauri (75), a retired clerk of the health department, his daughter-in-law Divya Pachauri (33), her sister Bulbul (25) and Divya’s two sons Aarush (10) and Laloo (1). All were found dead in their beds.

The incident took place in Shringar Nagar colony near Grand Trunk road, nearly three kilometres away from Kotwali police station.

According to police, a toilet cleaner bottle and sulphas were lying on the floor, but there was no forced entry inside the house as almost everything in the house was kept intact. The police had to use a gas cutter to break the iron gate in order to enter inside the house. Dog squad and a forensic team collected the evidence and fingerprints from the spot after SP Sunil Kumar Singh and other officers reached.

“There are some injury marks in the hands of Divya and ligature marks on the neck of Bulbul. The bodies have been sent for autopsy and victim’s relatives have been informed,” said a police source.

The first information to police was shared by victim’s neighbour advocate Alok Tiwari. A local source claimed, that a milkman had alerted the advocate after the family did not open the gate on repeated calls.

Divya’s body was lying on a cot just at the entrance of iron gate while Rajeshwar’s body was inside drawing room and two kids were lying dead in the bedroom. Bulbul was found dead on the first floor.

Some of the victims’ mouths was filled with foam and saliva while another one was bleeding from the mouth. All bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

Further action will be taken based on the autopsy report.
