Twitter is all praises for Bengaluru Police, as a city resident, Aparna Vinod, has expressed her gratitude for the cops for helping her out from a tough situation.
Of late, Aparna was stranded on the road for an hour in the night, with a friend, and was struggling to find a ride to go home. Private cabs showed exorbitant fares, while others did not respond to her request. To worsen the situation further, rain added to the misery as they couldn’t locate an auto either.
Distraught, she turned to Bengaluru Police who helped her find an auto rickshaw. She narrated the entire incident on a Facebook post and awarded them 5 stars. She also praised the auto driver as he did not overcharge her.
“As we helplessly stood in front of the hotel where we had our dinner, we saw a traffic police vehicle go past. I ran up the vehicle in the rain and asked them to help us find a ride. To be honest, we were extremely doubtful of any help coming our way, but you proved us wrong. Your team actually sent an auto to pick us up !” she wrote.
“But you guys and the auto driver were the real heroes (sic) of last night. I can’t tell you how reassured we were to know that when in need, we can count on you guys”, Aparna added.
Speaking about her views on the private cab companies, Aparna said, “With online aggregators, I realise I am more trapped. They have killed all competition and made us all depend on them for shoddy service. Earlier I could take an auto, maybe argue with the auto guys, but now there is no auto too! So we are absolutely at the mercy of these travel aggregators. If not for the cops that day, I wonder how I would have gotten home”.
On Twitter, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, Praveen Sood, shared a screenshot thanking her for her words.
