Bihar Election 2020 Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is campaigning for the second phase this evening, today. He took a dig at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and called them ‘double double yuvraj’.
Referring to the Uttar Pradesh elections, Modi said, “NDA defeated “double-double yuvraj” in UP polls; the “double-double yuvraj” will meet the same fate in Bihar.” Modi’s first campaign stop was Chapra — the political bastion of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad. As per the itinerary, from Chapra he will go to Samastipur to address a public meeting in Housing Board ground, then at Gandhi maidan in Motihari and will end the campaign trip with a rally in Bagaha. According to sources in the JD(U) in Patna, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will accompany Modi in Samastipur and Bagaha meetings.
RJD leader and opposition’s chief ministerial candidate Tejashwi Yadav will address 15 campaigns across the state.
According to the Election Commission, as compared to the corresponding assembly segments which went to poll in the 2015 state elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the turnout this time was higher. The virus failed to impact the turnout in the first phase of polling with 55.69 per cent of the nearly 2.15 crore eligible voters.
BJP President JP Nadda on Saturday asserted that NDA is moving towards a historic victory in Bihar. At a roadshow in Hajipur, attacking the opposition, Nadda said: ” The public has once again made up its mind to teach a lesson to those doing politics of lies, loot, fear and corruption. “

BSP chief Mayawati said, "Campaigning for the 94 assembly seats in the second phase of Bihar assembly elections is ending today. And, everybody's focus is on the November 3 voting. My appeal to voters is that they have seen the governments of Janata Dal-United and Rashtriya Janata Dal. Now, one chance should be given to our new alliance."
PM Modi said, "On one side, NDA is committed to democracy, and on the other side is 'parivar tantra gathbandhan'. NDA govt is for 'sabka saath, sabka vikas'. No one from the families of Modi or Nitish Babu has reached the corridors of power. Self-serving dynasts treat the state and governance as their personal properties."
"The huge crowd that I can see today at this rally clearly tells what the result is going to be on the 10th of November. Every survey has given the NDA a majority because Nitish Kumar is contesting on the plank of development," PM Modi said.

LJP chief Chirag Paswan asserted, "PM Narendra Modi himself is conducting so many rallies in Bihar. He is putting in a lot of effort because everyone knows that not a single Bihari is going to vote in the name of the present CM Nitish Kumar."
The Election Commission said re-release of PM Modi biopic in cinema halls amid the Bihar elections does not violate the poll code.
"We have opened up 30 passport centres, including one in Gopalganj, for those aspiring to go abroad. Now there is no need to travel all the way to Patna. We have removed the language barrier by emphasizing on mother tongue as medium of instruction in new education policy. Recruitment in railway, banking and other govt sectors will be through a single exam soon. We have ensured free grains for poor till Chhath puja. No woman should worry about how she will celebrate Chhath puja," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in Chhappra
"After the first phase voting, is it clear that Nitish Kumar is all set to form government again. This has left opponents frustrated. Political pundits were proven wrong in 1st phase of Bihar polls which saw large voter turnout despite COVID-19," PM said while campaigning.
Taking a dig at Nitish Kumar's retirement policies in the state, Tejashwi Yadav said the people of Bihar will make the chief minister retire now.
Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said, "There is a youngster who does not have any support, and investigation agencies like CBI and ED are hounding him. He is challenging the Union government as it is suppressing opposition parties," the Sena leader said, referring to Tejashwi. "Therefore, I will not be surprised if he became the chief minister of Bihar."
