In an appalling incident that took place in the national capital, a woman killed an elderly woman owing to the jealousy. The elderly women, Geeta Saxena used to boast about her finances and her exaggeration about her health led to her neighbors being envy.
One of the accused Richa committed the crime along with her lover. She works at Aadhar center in Ashok Vihar went to check on her and allegedly committed the crime
Richa had dropped school after class 11 and had been a relationship with Sumit who is a toy shop employee. The couple was jealous of the lavish lifestyle of the deceased and decided to loot her.
While talking to a national daily, Joy Tirkey, DCP of the Crime Branch said that the accused decided to target the deceased because her husband was away for work almost all day. On April 8, Richa went to the deceased’s house in the afternoon. Richa said that she was in the neighborhood so she decided to pay a visit to her. The deceased asked the accused to watch TV as she finished her household work.
While waiting for the deceased, the accused allegedly called her friends. They entered the residence and threatened the deceased. Despite the warning, the deceased kept on shouting for help and that prompted them to strangle her with a cloth. The accused allegedly robbed valuables from the entire house and escaped.
The incident was reported when the deceased’s daughter came to visit her. The accused, Richa, narrated the entire incident to her friend and word of mouth caught up with the accused.
The police conducted raids and caught hold of the accused. A part of the loot was successfully recovered by the police.
