Delhi Water Cut: Many people in Delhi should get ready for a water problem next week. The Delhi Jal Board has said that water supply will be disturbed from 10:00 AM on Monday, July 6, 2026, until 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The shutdown is linked to the joining of a newly laid 1500 mm mild steel water pipeline, called GK Main, near the Taimur Nagar drain in Khizrabad village. DJB posted the alert on its official social media account and asked people in the affected places to plan ahead.
The board said the work is being done because the pipeline connection is needed for maintenance and system work. It also said sorry for the trouble and told people to store enough water before the shutdown begins. Residents have also been told to use water carefully during the repair period so the shortage does not feel even worse.

Which Areas Will Face Low Water
The water cut will affect many parts of the city. Under the Sarai Kale Khan UGR, the affected areas include Sarai Kale Khan village, Siddharth Nagar, Ashram, Sunlight Colony-1 and 2, Bhagwan Nagar, Kilokari, Shalimar, Hari Nagar Ashram, and Jangpura-B. Under the Apollo UGR, people in Jasola village, Jasola Vihar, Ali Vihar, Madanpur Khadar, Badarpur, Mitapur, and Jaitpur may also see supply trouble.
The Sarita Vihar UGR area will also face problems. This includes all pockets of Sarita Vihar, meaning J, K, and L pockets, along with the ESI Hospital area and nearby places.
In the GK South UGR belt, the issue will touch Chirag Delhi, Lado Sarai, Qutab Institutional Area, Saket, Khirki, Hauz Rani, Malviya Nagar, Pushp Vihar, Greater Kailash-2, Alaknanda, CR Park, and Garhi.
The GK MBR area is also on the list. That includes Asian Games Village, Khel Gaon, Hauz Khas, Gulmohar Park, Chattarpur, and Vasant Kunj.
What Residents Should Do?
DJB has asked families in the affected areas to keep enough water ready before the cut starts. It also wants people to use the stored water wisely until normal supply comes back after the interconnection work is finished. The board said regular supply should return once the pipeline work is done.
