Induction Stove Demand Surges in India: A small electronics store located in Visakhapatnam which people commonly refer to as Vizag experienced an unexpected increase in induction stove sales when customers purchased more than 100 induction stoves during a two-day period. A viral clip was posted by Instagram user Nasser Saleh, who recorded a conversation with his father who runs Bombay Gaslight Stores in Vizag.
Induction Stove Demand Surges in India
The store normally sells two to three induction cooktops each day but the current peak demand turned the store into a busy marketplace which customers used to search for different cooking methods.
The shop owner summed up the moment in simple words: “Profit hi profit hai.” When asked about daily sales, Saleh’s father responded that the shop generally sells “2–3” induction cooktops per day.
“Right now at the billing counter, there are 10 induction stoves that are being sold at this moment,” the man said, further sharing how his father predicted that the induction stove sales would increase due to the ongoing conflict. He added, “And surprisingly, my father actually predicted this, and he had placed an order for all these induction stoves five days in advance.”
Why People Are Suddenly Buying Induction Stoves?
The increase in demand directly results from consumer anxiety about possible LPG supply interruptions throughout India. Households have started searching for alternative cooking methods because they are worried about cooking gas availability. All families now choose induction stoves which operate on electricity.

Tata Group operates Croma as its electronics retailing business. The company reported that its business operations have achieved substantial growth because more customers now show interest in induction cooktops. Shibashish Roy who serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Infiniti Retail Ltd which operates Croma reported that the company experienced a significant increase in customer demand during the past week.

Market research shows that shopkeepers in specific locations sell multiple items throughout the day to reach total sales which usually require multiple weeks to achieve. People have started buying products in panic which has led to online platforms showing many popular items as “out of stock.”
Retailers Cash In on Sudden Demand
The appliance retailers received an unexpected financial boost from the unanticipated customer demand. Shop owners who stocked induction stoves earlier are seeing record sales and rapid turnover of inventory.
Several retailers report that customers buy cooktops without immediate need because they want a reserve when gas supplies face restrictions. Retailers have experienced their best sales performance in years which results from customers buying appliances for precautionary reasons.
