SRH IPL 2023 Retention: SRH enter the auction with the most money, having released 12 players. Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran are their most notable absences, and several domestic players have also been released. SRH are in need of a captain and some big players, which they will be hoping to acquire with plenty of money to spend.
Despite winning six of fourteen matches and amassing 12 points, they finished the season in eighth place in the league standings.
For the past two seasons, the Hyderabad-based franchise has been in disarray. In the 2021 tournament, they fired David Warner and replaced him with Kane Williamson as captain.
However, since taking over the team, Williamson has appeared completely out of touch with his bat. He only managed 216 runs at a 19.64 average and a strike rate of 93.
The 2016 IPL champions did well in the mega-auction, which was held earlier in February. While some players exceeded expectations, there were a few who couldn’t justify their price tag.
The 2016 champions will try to get rid of some players and assemble a new squad for the next season of the Indian Premier League, which will take place in 2023.
