LSG IPL 2023 Retention: LSG was one of those teams that let go of some of their key players, possibly in order to restructure after their elimination from the IPL in 2022. Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Evin Lewis, and Manish Pandey were the most important of the seven players released by LSG.

Marcus Stoinis was expected to be released by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction 2023, according to Cricbuzz.

Stoinis was one of three pre-auction picks in the draught for the new Lucknow Super Giants franchise. The Goenka-owned franchise paid INR 9.2 crore for his services.

The hard-hitting all-rounder, however, failed to live up to the franchise’s expectations, scoring only 156 runs in 10 innings at an average of 19.50 and a strike rate of 147.17.

Aside from Marcus Stoinis, the Super Giants are expected to release Jason Holder ($8.75 million), Manish Pandey ($4.6 million), Ankit Rajpoot ($50 million), and Andrew Tye ($1 million) ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
