Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis resigns from CM post, hands over a letter to Governor. Fadnavis is set to brief media next.

CM Devendra Fadnavis has reached Raj Bhawan to meet the Governor over the deadlock and the government formation. He is set to brief the media at 4.30 pm.

“I handed over my resignation today to the Governor and he accepted it. I am thankfully to all the leaders I worked with in last five years, Fadnavis said while addressing the media.

“Be it in a village or a city, in last five years our government was able to bring impactful changes,” he added.

While addressing to the media, Fadnavis said “Shiv Sena did not have time to discuss things with me but they had discussions with Congress and NCP”

The move comes in the wake of the tenure of the incumbent Maharashtra Assembly getting over on November 8.

For the uninitiated, While the BJP and Sena fought the elections together and secured 105 seats and 56 seats respectively, they could not reach an understanding over government formation with the Maharashtra-based party demanding Chief Minister post by rotation and the ruling party hardening its position over the issue.
