Chennai: In an appalling incident, police have arrested a 50-year-old man for killing his own son after assuming that he had an affair with his wife. The accused is identified as Sakthivel who lived in a rented house in Senthamil Nagar area of Ramapuram with his 45-year-old wife, son and a daughter.
According to a report, the dispute between the father and son brewed from the fact that the accused used to suspect his wife’s loyalty and even stalked her to work. The painter’s 22-year-old son Sathish often got into heated argument with him that led to the accused to suspect his own son of having affair with his wife.
Police official said that in utmost rage, the accused one night took a knife and stabbed his son Sathish. Despite being stopped by his wife and daughter he even injured then and fled the spot. The victim was rushed to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
A complaint against the painter was registered following the incident at the Royala Nagar police station.
The inquiry has revealed that the accused worked as a painter while his son worked as a typist. His wife and daughter worked to have a housekeeping staff in a private nursing home and they had been living in the Ramapuram area for the past one and half year. The police are probing the matter and more details are awaited.
