Rituals for Nagula Chavithi

During Nagula Chavithi, Naga worshipers perform ritualistic Puja at ant hills with milk, turmeric, Vibhuti, and kumkum.

A combination of jaggery, sesame seeds or uncooked rice, black sesame seeds, and eggs is also available. Flowers and an earthen lamp are lit in front of the snake pit. All customs are observed on the day of the event while facing east and typically during the auspicious tithi.

Snake charmers frequently bring cobras to towns and villages, where believers feed them milk. Celebrating Nagula Chavithi and performing Puja for the Serpent Gods is thought to alleviate family strife and obstacles by serving as a constant reminder to people to live in harmony with nature.
