Moradabad: In Mukutpura Ahraula village of the Madha Pandey police station area of the district, 6 women got shot amidst celebratory firing at a wedding ceremony. The injured were driven to the hospital among which 2 lost their lives.

Late night during the “Jai mal” function, intoxicated youths initiated firing which resulted in the ugly incident to happen. Two relatives at the wedding, Kusum and Rasum were declared dead at the hospital while other four, Shivani, Rajkumari, Somavati and Rajwati are undergoing treatment.

Soon, after the news of demise of two, the wedding processions took place without any fervor. The police have registered a case against unknowns after the husband of one of the deceased’s request.

In another shocking incident, someone from the crowd of guests shot at the bride on stage just a few moment before her marriage on Thursday night in Delhi’s Shakarpur area. As soon as the bride and groom came on stage for exchanging garlands, a man fired gunshots, due to which the 19-year-old bride suffered a wound in her leg. The bullet pierced her leg and she was immediately rushed to a hospital.

The wedding rituals were resumed after the bride received treatment and the doctors declared her to be out of danger. Bride Puja and Groom Bharat then got married in a quiet ceremony.
