Ahead of Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is having one of the most difficult elections of his life. According to sources, Tomar’s inclusion in Madhya Pradesh BJP election management committee is likely to affect state leadership in Madhya Pradesh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan could take the back seat, if BJP is voted to power. Narendra Singh Tomar, who has served as BJP state Chief holds a cordial relation with several state BJP leaders and considered as the mass leader of Madhya Pradesh.
Several factors are against CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, which are likely to strengthen Tomar’s status in Madhya Pradesh.
Evident anti-incumbency, upper castes aggression against Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and many more reasons are among the resentments against Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Apart from the above factors, Vyapam scam and Dumper scam are the two controversies, which are around the corner in poll-bound state and creating an embarrassment for both BJP and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Narendra Singh Tomar’s cordial relations with the Central leadership.
As a fact, Narendra Singh Tomar is a very close aide of BJP Chief Amit Shah, who is currently in loggerheads with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Shah could provide a boost to Tomar’s rank in Madhya Pradesh, sources claimed. Tomar’s performance in Union government is also an added advantage for his expected rise.

Senior BJP leader and Mhow MLA, Kailash Vijayvargiya who had showcased his willingness to become Chief Minister on several occasions, could become Shivraj’s alternative as he holds massive support in Madhya Pradesh after Narendra Singh Tomar. Being a mass leader, Vijayvargiya is considered as The major opposition party, Congress also holds a cordial relation with Kailash Vijayvargiya. After 2014, Lok Sabha elections, when Vyapam scam was rising in the state, Vijayvargiya was leading the race, however, due to the interference of BJP leader Arvind Menon, Vijayvargiya lost the battle.
Madhya Pradesh polls which are scheduled for November 28, Shivraj Singh Chouhan is facing various resentments over various issues and conversely, Narendra Singh Tomar has maintained an acute distance from any controversy, which is making him an alternative of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
