Madhya Pradesh: Major setback for BJP, Brahmin leader joins Congress

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) sitting MLA from Tendu Kheda constituency in Narsinghpur district, Sanjay Sharma has joined Congress on Tuesday in Indore in presence of Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi ahead of assembly election 2019. After joining Congress, Sanjay Sharma attacked Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and stated “BJP government did nothing for my constituency”.

As per the sources, Uday Pratap Singh, who is Member of Parliament from Hoshangabad- Narsinghpur constituency is eyeing on Sharma’s constituency. Sanjay Sharma is the Brahmin face of BJP in Narmadanchal region and holds a considerable amount of support in the area. Sharma is also a close aide of senior Congress leader Suresh Pachouri. Congress would project Sanjay Sharma from Tendu Kheda seat, sources claimed.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP government, who is facing anti-incumbency in the state, is in loggerheads with several sitting MLAs over poor performance in their respective constituencies and many more factors.
