Ranveer Singh Visits Mysuru Temple:Bollywood star Ranveer Singh made a quiet visit to the famous Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru on Tuesday morning, days after the Karnataka High Court directed him to offer prayers in connection with the controversial ‘Kantara’ mimicry case. The actor’s spiritual visit has now become one of the most talked-about developments in the entertainment industry, especially as it comes amid the growing controversy surrounding his reported exit from Don 3.
According to multiple reports, Ranveer arrived at the temple discreetly and avoided public attention during the visit. The actor reportedly wore a mask until he reached the sanctum sanctorum and later offered special prayers to Goddess Chamundeshwari. Temple sources stated that he stood in the queue like a regular devotee and completed the rituals peacefully.
Why Did Ranveer Singh Visit The Chamundeshwari Temple?
That temple visit feels tied straight to the ongoing fuss around Ranveer Singh’s mimicry of a sacred Daiva sequence from Kantara, during the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in November 2025. He did that act and it got backlash from parts of the Kannada community, they said the actor was showing disrespect to a culturally sensitive ritual, very much linked with coastal Karnataka traditions.

After that outrage, an FIR was filed against him under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), though people were already debating it. Then later Ranveer moved things forward by submitting a revised affidavit before the Karnataka High Court and he also issued an unconditional apology. The court subsequently observed that the matter was likely to be resolved and directed the actor to offer prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple within four weeks.

Ranveer Singh’s Public Apology
After the controversy erupted online, Ranveer Singh publicly clarified that his intention was never to hurt religious or cultural sentiments. In his statement, the actor said he only wanted to appreciate Rishab Shetty’s performance in ‘Kantara’ and expressed regret if anyone felt offended.
He wrote, “My intention was to highlight Rishab’s incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it takes to perform that particular scene the way he did, for which he has my utmost admiration.” He added, “I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition, and belief in our country. If I’ve hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologise.”
Interestingly, Rishab Shetty also reacted indirectly to the controversy during a public event, saying that the Daiva performance portrayed in the film carries deep spiritual significance and should not be casually recreated or mocked on stage.
Following the controversy, Rishab Shetty indirectly addressed the row at an event. He said, “That makes me uncomfortable. While much of the film is cinema and performance, the Daiva element is sensitive and sacred. Wherever I go, I request people not to perform it on stage or mock it. It is emotionally deeply connected to us.”
Ranveer Singh Visits Mysuru Temple Amid ‘Don 3’ Controversy
Ranveer Singh’s Mysuru visit has grabbed even more attention because it happened just a day after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reportedly issued a non-cooperation directive against the actor over his alleged exit from Don 3.

Reports suggest that filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and his production house incurred losses of nearly ₹45 crore due to pre-production expenses linked to the project. The situation reportedly escalated after mediation efforts failed between both parties.
Despite the ongoing industry row, Ranveer Singh has maintained a calm public stance. Through his spokesperson, the actor recently stated that he remains focused on his work and continues to hold “respect and goodwill” for everyone involved in the franchise.
