In a shocking development, a 45-year-old woman was tied to a pole and beaten up by a man who was angry for his daughter eloped with the woman’s son. The incident happened at Vilangattur village near Virudhachalam in Tamil Nadu on Thursday.
As per the reports, Periyasami, son of Ponnusami and Selvi 45, of Vilangattur had been in a relationship with Pauvila, daughter of Kolanchi 60 of the same village. Kolanchi, about a month ago, received a marriage proposal for his daughter to which he disapproved.
As they were arranging to fix her marriage with another man, Pavali reportedly left home with Periyasamy around a month ago.

On Thursday, Kolanji confronted boy’s mother Selvi as she was on her way back from the ration shop. When she said she was unaware of the whereabouts of her son and his daughter, she was tied to the pole and beaten ruthlessly.
He hit her, tore her clothes and humiliated her, said police. Virudhachalam police took Kolanchi into custody on Thursday. A case was filed based on Selvi’s complaint. He was booked under Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and provisions of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act. However, he was released on station bail on Friday.
