As the Chief Visitor, Arjun Munda, Union Minister of Tribal Affairs and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, will open the Automotive Skills Development Council’s (ASDC) Apprenticeship Rozgar Mela (Job Fair) on March 4, 2023 at the Kashi Sahu College in the Saraikela district of Jharkhand.

The mega job fair will be a one-of-a-kind example of a public-private partnership, and leading automotive companies are anticipated to attend, offering employment opportunities to tribal youth who are trained as mechanics for two- and four-wheeled vehicles. Thousands of tribal candidates from surrounding areas are anticipated to attend the expo.

The job fair will be an important event for students and the automotive industry in Jharkhand, as it will provide a platform for tribal students to showcase their skills and for companies to find the right talent for their units, allowing tribal youth to improve their skills and work for prestigious organisations.

In Khunti, Saraikela, Chaibasa, and Simdega, a two-day recruitment drive was held. 387 out of 488 girls from Khunti, 152 out of 331 girls from Saraikela, 846 out of 1071 girls from Simdega, and 513 out of 715 girls from Chaibasa qualified for employment at the Hosur Plant of Tata Electronics in Tamil Nadu.

The initiative was launched through the efforts of the Minister for Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda, during the celebration of Sewa Pakhawada on the birthday of the Honorable Prime Minister. More than 2,600 girls and young women from the rural areas of the districts participated in the recruitment campaign, of whom 1,898 were chosen in two days.

It is anticipated that similar events will be held in the future to support the expansion of the automotive industry in Jharkhand and other Tribal regions of the nation.
